Senate Aging and Youth Committee Hearing Postponed on Senate Bill 20

Harrisburg – The Senate Aging and Youth Committee, chaired by Sen. Bob Mensch (R-24), has postponed the hearing on Senate Bill 20, originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, 2013.  The hearing will be held at a later date.  Senate Bill 20, sponsored by Sen. LeAnna Washington (D-4), proposes changes to the definition of “child abuse” within the Child Protective Services Law.

This bill addresses the recommendations made by the Task Force on Child Protection.  The task force recommendations led to the introduction of a bipartisan package of legislation to provide sweeping improvements to Pennsylvania’s child protection laws.
