HB 433, P.N. 2008 (Aument) | Bill and Amendment Summary – Amends the Child Protective Services Law to provide for procedural safeguards, notification of results stemming from a child abuse investigation, process of appeal of indicated reports of child abuse, child victims/witnesses, additional review of indicated reports and removal from the child abuse registry.
Amendment A04821 (Mensch) — makes substantive and technical changes clarifying existing language and some previously unaddressed issues. Requires administrative review by the Secretary; clarifies instances of good cause; allows for review of an indicated report; gives the Secretary a time frame to amend or expunge a record; individuals can request a hearing for appeal; removes hearing requirements; requires certain individuals to sign reports; requires a final status of a report upon completion of investigation and who receives those notices.
HB 436, P.N. 2011 (Stephens) | Bill and Amendment Summary – Amends the Child Protective Services Law to provide for persons who are required to report suspected child abuse, the basis to report suspected child abuse, privileged communications/exceptions, persons encouraged to report and require the posting of signs and penalties for failure to report suspected child abuse.
Amendment A04823 (Mensch) – provides for penalties for mandated reporters who fail to report child abuse.
HB 726, P.N. 2012 (Petri) | Bill and Amendment Summary — Amends the Child Protective Services Law to define “child abuse” and related terms. It also provides guidelines for exceptions from “child abuse”.
Amendment A04826 (Mensch) – Adds definitions for founded and indicated reports, changes definitions of child and recent act or failure to act. Describes acts that are considered child abuse. Provides exclusions from the definition of child abuse. Removes definitions that are contained in other bills in the child protection package.
