Senator Bob Mensch to Host Free Montgomery County Veteran ID Event with Representative Justin Simmons

Harrisburg –  Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) will be hosting a free Veteran ID event with State Representative Justin Simmons (R- 131) on Friday, September 16 for Montgomery County veterans.

The event will take place at their Red Hill District office, located at 56 West Fourth Street, Floor 2, Red Hill, PA 18076 from 10am to 3pm.  The office is located on the second floor of the Red Hill Borough building.

The event will feature the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds, Ms. Jeanne Sorg, who will be recording Veterans’ discharges and issuing Veteran Photo ID cards that entitle veterans to a discount at over 500 Montgomery County businesses.  Veterans must bring their DD-214 discharge papers and their photo identification to receive the discount card.

In addition, staff from US Senator Pat Toomey’s office and Congressman Ryan Costello’s office will be available to assist with federal-related questions.  Staff from Senator Mensch’s office and Representative Simmons’ office will also be available to assist with state related questions and help constituents search the unclaimed property database to locate potential unclaimed property listings.

Identification cards will only be issued for Montgomery County residents.  Veterans outside of Montgomery County who wish to receive a discount card should contact their County Recorder of Deeds to see if they offer a similar program.  All residents, however, are welcome to stop by to receive federal or state assistance.

Questions should be directed to Senator Mensch’s office at 215-541-2388 or Representative Simmons’ office at 215-679-3152.
