Harrisburg – Senator Bob Mensch (R-24), Co-Chair of the bipartisan Senate Life Science Caucus, participated in the PA Life Sciences Advocacy Day on May 9, 2017.
“Pennsylvania needs to be a leader in the life science industry,” said Mensch. “The economic impact and benefit of attracting and retaining life science companies is astounding for Pennsylvania. These companies provide good family-sustaining jobs and I am always impressed with the innovative drugs and therapies that these companies provide to patient care.”
The advocacy day was led by Life Sciences Pennsylvania, a statewide trade association for life sciences in Pennsylvania, which serves as a catalyst to ensure Pennsylvania is a global leader in the life sciences by developing a business and public policy environment which fosters life science growth and success.
The bipartisan Pennsylvania Senate Life Science Caucus, which Senator Mensch Co-Chairs, focuses on legislation that supports the biotechnology, medical device and diagnostic, pharmaceutical industries and academic research institutions in the Commonwealth. The Caucus also helps to educate members of the House and Senate on these subjects.
