Harrisburg – Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) introduced a resolution that designates the week of October 16, 2017 as “Community College Completion Week” in Pennsylvania. He is co-chair of the bi-partisan Community College Caucus.
“The vision of Pennsylvania’s 14 community colleges is to increase the workforce readiness skills and educational attainment level of Pennsylvanians to create a productive workforce and vibrant economy,” said Mensch. “These community colleges embrace the comprehensive mission of what it means to be a community college: to provide high-quality, affordable and accessible higher education and workforce training.”
There are many benefits to earning a community college degree or certificate. Students with a degree or certificate regularly earn $250k more over a lifetime than someone with only a high school degree.
The resolution was unanimously adopted by the Senate.
