Senators Greenleaf and Mensch Congratulate the North Penn Girls Swimming and Diving Team on their 2018 PIAA First Place Victory

Harrisburg –Today, State Senators Stewart J. Greenleaf (R-12) and Bob Mensch (R-24) welcomed the North Penn Girls Swimming and Diving Team and their coaches to the State Capitol to celebrate their 2018 state championship title.  The Senators presented each team member with a Senate Citation, and introduced the team on the Senate Floor.

The North Penn Knights won first place with a score of 258 points in the District One Class AAA Championships, held March 3rd and 4th at Kirk Pool at La Salle University.  This is their second state title in three years.

The team captured first place in the 200-Yard Medley Relay, 1 Meter Diving event, and the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay. 

“We are very proud to welcome one of Pennsylvania’s most successful athletic programs to the State Capitol today,” said Senator Greenleaf.  “The North Penn Knights continue to be motivated by their past success, and I am very proud of their accomplishments.  They are a truly legendary team that just keeps getting better.”

“I am pleased to congratulate the North Penn Girls Swimming and Diving Team on their 2018 state championship title,” said Mensch.  “The team members are exceptional athletes who deserve this recognition along with their coaches.  I commend them on all on their hard work and dedication to achieve this goal.”
