are interns in Senator Mensch’s Montgomery County office and are 2009 graduates
of North Penn High School. Rachel is currently enrolled at Penn State
University’s main campus where she double-majors in Political Science and
Energy, Business and Finance. Tom is a student in the Schreyer Honors College
at Penn State University, with a dual degree in History and Political Science.
He currently serves as the Administrative Vice President of the Penn State Mock
Trial Association, is a Teaching Assistant for a leadership course offered by
the honors college and a member of the Presidential Leadership Academy.

Senate floor. Caitlin is an intern in Senator Mensch's Lehigh County office.
Caitlin is currently a student at the University of Pennsylvania and has a
combination major of political science, philosophy and economics. A 2009 alumni

Brothers / Big Sisters Shadow Day, is seated at Senator Mensch’s desk in the
Senate chamber. Donovan spent the afternoon with Senator Mensch sitting in on
meetings, attending caucus and touring the Capitol.

American Legion’s Keystone Boys State program to the State Capitol. Pictured

Participants have the opportunity to gain
leadership skills on a "learn by doing" basis, whereby the selected 'citizens'
participate in a variety of activities and presentations such as: the rights and
privileges, the duties and the responsibilities of a franchised citizen through
a week-long government simulation, which begins on the local level and builds up
to the state level. Activities include government elections, legislative
sessions, court proceedings, and law enforcement presentations.

Backer on the Senate Floor. Derrick is an intern in Senator Mensch’s
Northampton County office. Derrick attended Northampton Community College and
is transferring to Kutztown University for his sophomore year. A 2009 graduate
of Nazareth Area High School, Derrick is a volunteer fireman and coaches
baseball to 12-13 year olds.

Sen. Bob Mensch recently participated in a
news conference announcing the creation of the Friends of the Pennsylvania
Children's Trust Fund. The announcement coincided with Child Abuse Prevention
Month, which is held throughout the month of April. Senator Mensch is a member
of the Children's Trust Fund, a board that supports the organizations and
agencies across the Commonwealth that protect our young people from abuse and

October 26, 2009 - Senator Bob Mensch (third
from left) participated in a ceremony designating a portion of Brookside Road in
Lower Macungie Township as the Sergeant Ashly L. Moyer Memorial Road. Moyer, a
Lehigh County resident and 2003 graduate of Emmaus High School, was killed by a
roadside bomb while on a routine patrol driving an armored Humvee in central
Baghdad.
