Mensch and Simmons Hold Successful Veteran ID/Outreach Event

Harrisburg –  Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) cohosted his first Veteran ID/Outreach event with Representative Justin Simmons (R-131) at their joint district office in Red Hill on July 29. Over 60 veterans were able to get their veteran photo ID from the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds. The ID cards entitle veterans to a discount at over 400 Montgomery County businesses.  More information on this program is available at http://www.montcopa.org/index.aspx?NID=478.

The Pennsylvania Department of Veterans Affairs Mobile Outreach Van, Montgomery County Veterans Affairs and a staff member from Senator Pat Toomey’s office were also present to help veterans with any VA related questions or issues.

“We had a great turnout and I am pleased that we were able to help so many veterans,” said Senator Mensch.  “We cannot thank the veterans enough for their service and I look forward to having another veteran ID event in the near future.”
