Senator Mensch’s Harrisburg Highlights

Week of October 1, 2018

Dear Friend,

Below are some important Harrisburg updates that may be helpful to you.

  • This week, the Senate I approved House Bill 2060.This legislation, which I supported, removes firearms from those subject to Protection from Abuse orders or convicted of misdemeanor domestic violence more quickly, and eliminating third-party “safekeeping” of firearms with family or friends.

House Bill 2060 mirrors legislation in the state Senate that passed unanimously last spring. The measure is now set for enactment into law.

  • Also, my resolution recognizing October 13, 2018 as “Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day” in Pennsylvania was adopted by the Senate this week. You can watch the remarks I made on the Senate Floor here.
  • Lastly, the Senate adopted my resolution recognizing October 8, 2018 as “National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Day” in Pennsylvania.A link to my press release can be found here.
