Harrisburg –State Sen. Bob Mensch (R-24) announced the awarding of state grants to boost security in two local school districts.
The legislators said North Penn School District and North Montco Tech Career Center (CTC) will receive $20,000 for to establish and implement programs to prevent and reduce violent incidents.
“A safe and secure learning environment is vital for educating students,” said Senator Mensch. “This state assistance will continue to help school districts keep students and teachers safe, and allow them to focus on learning.”
The funds were awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the competitive Safe Schools Targeted Grant Program. The initiative supports local efforts to prevent and reduce violent incidents in schools, purchase safety and security-related equipment, and provide the training and compensation of school resource officers and school police officers.
