Senator Mensch Attends Major Megan Edinger’s Promotion Ceremony

HARRISBURG – Today, State Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) attended a promotion ceremony for Major Megan Edinger of East Greenville.

Major Megan Edinger has long been working toward her success, graduating from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania and receiving her commission in 2010 through the IUP ROTC program. Her extensive military education includes courses in leadership and human resources. 

Major Edinger is also currently a teacher at the Quakertown Community School District, where she serves as director of orchestras at seven schools, after having started the district program in 2018. Major Edinger also serves our country, having joined the Maryland Army National Guard in June of 2006 as a Specialist in the 229th Army Band in Nottingham. 

From there, she has served as Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, and Operations Officer at the 213 Personnel Company in Fort Indiantown Gap. She went on to serve in numerous other roles in command, and after more than two years of command, was transferred to the 213th Regional Support Group to serve as the Brigade Human Resources Officer in Allentown. 

Major Edinger’s awards and badges include: Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. 

“I was honored to be at the promotion ceremony for Major Megan Edinger and am proud of the various achievements that she has had throughout her career,” Mensch said. “It is always great to see the many accomplishments of constituents in my district and makes me proud to represent the 24th Senate District.”
