Senator Mensch’s Harrisburg Highlights

Dear Friends,

Below are some important Harrisburg updates that may be helpful to you.

This past week was filled with equal amounts of jubilation and sorrow as on one hand the country welcomed a new president while on the other hand, the Pennsylvania Senate mourned the loss of a courageous colleague and friend.

On Wednesday, the Inauguration for President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris was held in Washington, D.C.  While it’s no secret that I don’t agree with a number of the policies of the new president, there is no question that we share the same goals of a successful and unified United States of America, and I wish him and his administration nothing but success in the four years to come. While I’m sure many of his proposed initiatives will be heavily debated and scrutinized, I hope that we can get back to some semblance of bipartisanship and working together for the American people.

Earlier this week, my colleague and I in the Senate were informed of the untimely loss of one of our own, Senator Dave Arnold of Lebanon County. Senator Arnold had fought a valiant and courageous battle with brain cancer, and ultimately lost that battle. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, and I offer them my deepest sympathy and support as they go forward through the loss of such a promising and dedicated husband, father, and public servant.
