Mensch, Pennycuick Issue Statement on Impact of Area Road Projects

Multiple simultaneous roadway construction projects will significantly delay response time for emergency service responders

HARRISBURG – Sen. Bob Mensch (R-Berks/Bucks/Montgomery) and Rep. Tracy Pennycuick (R-Montgomery) today issued a statement on the potential problems with both county and state road construction projects happening at the same time, thereby creating response time delays for emergency service providers in the New Hanover Township area.

“The main issue from the beginning of all of this has been a real lack of communication. Open lines of communication about the projected timeline of these projects would avoid multiple road closures and lengthy detours that will add valuable time for not only commuters in the area, but essential emergency services, such as fire, police and ambulance services.

“We are grateful needed road construction is taking place in our county; however, communication and planning of these projects needs to happen from the outset so we don’t cause other unintended harmful consequences in our communities.”
