HARRISBURG –Senator Bob Mensch (R-24) hosted his 9th Annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, September 17, at Upper Perkiomen High School (2 Walt Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073). Approximately 300 individuals were in attendance, which included veterans, veterans’ guests, exhibitors, and guest speakers. “Historically, Pennsylvanians have answered the call to defend freedom in astounding numbers. Our Commonwealth is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the nation,” said Mensch. “I believe we have an obligation to all veterans to honor their service and contributions both in peace and war.”
The event featured keynote speaker, Brigadier General John R. Pippy. Dr. Jim Arcieri, Pastor of Community Bible Fellowship Church, did the blessing and benediction of this event.
Veterans also enjoyed patriotic songs performed by the Upper Perkiomen High School Women’s Choir and the National Anthem performed by Upper Perkiomen High School student, Stella Feenstra. Attendees were also able to obtain veteran identification cards from the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds.
Various organizations were available to provide veterans with various information and services, including: Berks County Department of Veteran Affairs, Korean Vietnam War Veterans of Pennsylvania, Korean War Memorial America-Korea Alliance Peace Park, Montgomery County Department of Veterans Affairs, Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Office-Jeanne Sorg, Montgomery and Bucks County Vet Center, State Representative Milou Mackenzie, State Representative Tracy Pennycuick, Tails of Valor, Paws of Honor Program, Inc., Veterans Brotherhood, and Vets for Vets.
