Harrisburg –Pennsylvania Senator Bob Mensch (R – 24) announced that Abington – Lansdale Hospital will receive a $1M grant from the Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program (RACP). Funds have been earmarked for the new Endocrine/Pulmonary Suite and a Women’s Imaging Center.
The Endocrine/Pulmonary Suite, which is now open in the Medical Arts Building (Suite 220), provides full-service outpatient endocrinology care including diabetic education and insulin pump demonstrations and education. This suite will also be home to pulmonary specialists in the coming months, providing the community with physician specialists who treat lung diseases. Pulmonary function testing will now be performed here.
The Women’s Imaging Center will be a central location for all women’s imaging services, including mammography, ultrasound and stereotactic breast biopsy, as well as bone densitometry (DEXA).
“We are proud to provide these services right here in the North Penn community,” says Katie Farrell, chief administrative officer, Abington – Lansdale Hospital. “The new suites funded by the RACP grant will ensure that patients have access to specialized care. We are very appreciative of Senator Mensch’s support of our goals and his assistance in facilitating the grant. Local patients will greatly benefit from services this grant will support—the new Endocrine/Pulmonary Suite and Women’s Imaging Center will help meet community needs and offer patients care and management of common diseases and conditions, like diabetes.”
“I’m pleased to support Abington – Lansdale Hospital’s new Endocrine/Pulmonary Suite and Women’s Imaging Center,” said Pennsylvania Senator Bob Mensch (R – 24th District). “I’ve been a strong supporter in providing patients with information to help combat breast cancer as proven through my legislation, including Act 86 of 2013 which requires FDA facilities to provide each patient with information about her breast density. It is imperative that we continue supporting advanced medical facilities and finding ways to help patients get the information and help they need. The new centers will provide essential services to the local community and provide access to quality care.”
The Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program is a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania grant program administered by the Pennsylvania Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
